Owning The Year of the Flood

When I reviewed Margaret Atwood's new novel The Year of the Flood, I said you should read it. And now you can--in fact, you can own it if you have the money. So go find a copy. I'm buying a copy for myself as soon as I have time to get to a bookstore!

Although for a while in the spring and summer I was reviewing Advance Reader Copies loaned to me by the local college bookstore, things have changed at the bookstore and I'm not doing that any more. I'm back to reviewing mostly books I own and ones I borrow from other people and places, including libraries, of course.

I'd hoped to get my hands on that advance copy, too...

Surely coming to a library near you, or I'll lend you mine.

I would also like to indulge in a little internet sigh here for all that is lost. (sighs)

After vainly hoping I could win a give-away, I gave in and ordered a copy of The Year of the Flood. I was pretty sure I would end up buying it because, when it comes to some authors, waiting too long is not an option.
I'm sorry you will no longer be able to get ARCs. (sigh)

Lori, I love the way you put that...waiting too long is not an option with a new Atwood dystopian novel, for sure!

The bookstore story is not mine to tell, but the end of the ARC supply is far from the saddest part of it; the saddest part is that lemming moved away.
