Children's: What pig experiments with jobs like detective, banker and cowboy, in 26 Walter Brooks books?

Non-Fiction: What 3,900-mile-long waterway did Simon Winchester travel up and back down, while researching The River at the Center of the World?
Book Club: What kind of animal narrates Paul Auster's novel Timbuktu--a dog, a parrot or a rat?

Book Bag: What author landed Hideaway, Dragon Tears, Cold Fire and five other novels on the New York Times hardcover bestseller list?
I do not know any of these. That makes me feel a tiny bit bad about myself.
ReplyDeleteOh Jenny, don't feel bad! These are really hard! I know three out of the six, which is why I played the card, but that's from years of studying for an oh-so-useful degree in literature...
ReplyDeleteChildren's: Freddy, in the _Freddy the Detective_ series.
ReplyDeleteClassics - Paycock
ReplyDeleteBook Club - dog
Authors - Willa Cather
I only knew two - Paycock and Willa Cather.
ReplyDeleteWilla Cather, yes? That's the only one I can answer.
ReplyDeleteI knew one!!! But that's because I absolutely loved Song of the Lark. Hurrah!
ReplyDeleteI was going to guess Rose Wilder Lane, but now realize, with appropriate dope slap, that it's Cather.
ReplyDeleteWilla Cather is the only one I know.
ReplyDeleteChildren's: Freddy (I loved the detective book, and I think it's Walter, Walker)
ReplyDeleteBook Club: a dog
Authors: Willa Cather
Avid Reader, thanks (second dope slap) I can't type the name "Walter" easily because I type Walker so much (my son's name)! Didn't mean to make that question harder!
ReplyDeleteChildren's: Freddy
ReplyDeleteClassics: Paycock
Non-Fiction: The Yangtze
Book Club: A dog
Authors: Willa Cather
Book Bag: Dean Koontz
This is the first time we've missed any--maybe because Harriet is on vacation and she often knows the non-fiction one. Also I don't think we have to work up much shame for not knowing Koontz.
